Build a Pitch Deck That Sells Your Vision 💻✨
🧠 You’ve Got an Idea. Now It’s Time to Tell the World.
Hey friend,
Over the last two weeks, we’ve laid the groundwork:
✅ You’ve turned your idea into a clear business overview (Business Overview Template)
✅ You’ve validated it by talking to real people and gathering real data
Now comes the part where you turn that clarity into a compelling story, one that helps others get it instantly.
Enter: the pitch deck.
💻 What Is a Pitch Deck (and Why Do You Need One)?
A pitch deck is more than just slides, it’s your business in visual form. It communicates your idea quickly, clearly, and confidently.
Whether you’re:
Pitching to investors
Applying for a grant or accelerator
Hiring your first teammate
Or just trying to get your own thoughts aligned...
A great deck brings your vision to life.
🔑 The Core Structure of a Winning Pitch Deck
Over the next two weeks, I’ll walk you through each of these slides in detail. But here’s the roadmap we’ll follow:
Intro – Who you are and what your business is in one clean sentence.
Problem – What pain point exists in the world (that you’re solving for)?
Market – Who are you building for, and how big is the opportunity?
Opportunity – Why now? What makes this the right time for your idea?
Solution – Your product, service, or platform and how it solves the problem.
Traction – Any early wins, data, feedback, or momentum.
Competitive Landscape – Who else is out there, and how are you different?
Team – Who’s building this and why you're the right one to do it.
Ask (optional) – If you're fundraising, how much are you raising and what for?
Exit Strategy (optional) – What’s the long-term play?
Appendix (optional) – Supporting slides like:
Timeline
Go-to-market strategy
Unit economics
Financial forecast
🐶 How This Helped Me with Crate Away
I used this deck structure to:
Win over early partners and manufacturers
Apply (and get into!) grant programs
Get meetings with celebrity and angel investors
Stay focused through every pivot and phase of growth
My deck became a visual story I could pull up on my phone, email in seconds, or walk someone through in a coffee shop.
You’ll have the same by the end of this mini-series.
📅 What’s Coming Next
For the next 2 weeks, we’re deep diving into these slides, covering:
How to write each section
What to include (and what to leave out)
Real-life examples from my Crate Away journey
Templates and frameworks you can steal
Next week, we’ll cover:
🔹 Intro
🔹 Problem
🔹 Market
The following week:
🔹 Solution
🔹 Traction
🔹 Competition, Team, and The Ask
We’ll also share bonus resources for Appendix slides if you’re applying to accelerators or seeking funding.
Take a look at the deck template and start thinking about how you would explain your idea in one sentence. That first slide? It’s trickier than it sounds.
You’ve got this.
